Licensing

ENLIGHTENMENT

By purchasing songbooks, eBooks, or PDF downloads of worldmaking.net music, you have permission to make one copy of all of it. For, say, rehearsal or your birdcage. To use the music with your congregation, you need a license.

WHY?

Because strange as it may seem, songs are property. Copyright is, naturally enough, the Right to Copy music. Only the publisher has that right. To legally make copies yourself, you purchase a License. A License is simply permission and blessing to use the songs (which, remember, are property of the publisher) as you wish.

If your congregation happens to be a member of CCLI, you are already covered because worldmaking.net songs are represented in their respective catalogs. Simply do your diligent reporting as usual.

If not, simply download the license agreement. If you choose the annual license for unlimited copies, it's about the cost of a pizza every three months. Plus, an annual license includes songs that will be published by worldmaking.net in the coming year. And I happen to know there will be a big batch released in early 2005.

THANK YOU

for attending to this important (but sorta boring) piece of business. Rest assured it is not boring to me at all, because it's an important part of how I make my living.

I appreciate your partnership in music and ministry.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.
