The Psalm Project is Richard's self-imposed 12-year intensive study of the Psalms of the Hebrew Bible. Shout For Joy, the second volume of songs published, sings with the Psalms of the revised common lectionary for Advent and Christmas. Advent: holy waiting, preparing, pregnant hoping. Christmas: breakthrough of God's presence in the story of Immanuel, God With Us.

This collection, true to the texts, are songs of longing and celebration, lament and hope. Though we recognize these moments and practice them in Advent and Christmas, these themes ring true for the people of God all year round.
